History

The Association of Management Information Systems was founded in May 2006 as a collective effort by the MIS faculty and student body. The organization was formed with the intentions of serving the MIS student population, the MIS department and the Fox School of Business as the first group to support the discipline.

The organization began in the fall of 2006 as a bright idea and a gathering of a few individuals. Today, AMIS has grown to over 80 active members, 15 executive board members and officers, and takes part in a variety of activities throughout each academic year. It continues to deliver on its promise to aid in the academic, professional and social development of its members, while serving the enthusiastic MIS community in the Fox School of Business and the diverse campus of Temple University.

Although AMIS is not affiliated with any national or parent organization, the group continues to grow with the kind support of the MIS department and the Institute for Business and Information Technology.
